Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.
Bro. Travis accepted the call from the church as Pastor on October 10, 2021. He comes to us from serving as youth pastor for the last 20 years. Bro. Travis has a heart for people and seeing folks saved. Watch for more information about our new Senior Pastor!
Bro. Jordan Nelson and his wife Paula are our youth directors. Answering the call of Jesus on their lives to lead our young people, and through his direction we are excited to see Bro Jordan as he fosters the growth of the faith of our young people. These young people are at an extremely pivotal point in their life and a we believe a good solid example of what God expects of his children will aide in growing productive Christians and in turn church members.
The church of tomorrow is our children of today. FBC-Thornton believes that if we do not have a strong foundation to build on, just like a house, the church will fall. Mrs. Shelley Young leads our children’s department. Through the guidance of her and her helpers the children’s department facilitates an environment of learning God’s word and an atmosphere that allows our younger people to Experience God on their level.
Bro. Mike has served as a church treasurer for the last 20 years. His wisdom and direction he receives through his continued prayer time has allowed us to reach the lost of our community and the otter most.
The Bible has a lot to say about music, and Bro. Jack’s role is to lead the church’s worship of God in a way that matches the character of God. Bro. Jack has a heart for worship and since his answering the call as our music director, has led us to reach outside our comfort zone that allowed us not only to worship, but through his leadership provides a freedom of worship.
